Hi, I’m Gwendolyn

Educator, Health Coach, and Daughter of Two Teachers!

Before becoming a health coach, I spent 15 years in the corporate world—eventually serving as Vice President of European Marketing for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. I know the pressure of balancing a demanding career with everyday life, and I know what it feels like to put everyone else's needs ahead of your own.

For the past 10 years, I've worked as a substitute teacher, taught English as a Foreign Language, and coached students preparing for the SAT.

I've lived the early mornings, the skipped lunches, the constant decision-making, and the long days that leave so many teachers running on empty.

Like so many educators, I leaned on convenience, watched my healthy habits slip, and struggled to find energy for myself after giving everything to everyone else.

My connection to teachers, though, goes back much further than my own time in the classroom.

My dad dedicated 41 years to teaching high school industrial arts. I remember him coming home exhausted every day, often falling asleep in his chair before dinner. My stepmom was a teacher too—she poured her heart into her students, then came home to pour everything she had left into her family, rarely leaving anything for herself.

Watching them, I learned that teaching isn't just a job. It's a calling—and one that takes a real physical, mental, and emotional toll.

Those experiences—my own and theirs—eventually led me to become a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

Today, my mission is simple: help busy teachers build steady energy through realistic nutrition and lifestyle habits that actually fit into the school day.

I don't believe teachers need another restrictive diet or complicated wellness plan. They need practical strategies that work in real classrooms, with real schedules, in real life.

Through simple nutrition education, easy meal ideas, and personalized coaching, I help teachers make confident food choices that lead to sustained energy, fewer afternoon crashes, and healthier habits that last well beyond the school year.

Because when teachers feel their best, everyone benefits—their students, their families, and most importantly, themselves.

You spend your days supporting your students. Let someone support you.

I'm here to help you create simple, sustainable habits that help you feel energized throughout the school day.

WHY DO I DO THIS?

Because teachers deserve to have the energy to enjoy life after the final bell.

I know the demands of education. Between teaching, lesson planning, grading, meetings, and caring for everyone else, it's easy to put your own wellbeing at the bottom of the list.

I've lived through burnout myself, and after spending 10 years in education, I've seen firsthand how draining the school day can be.

You spend every day pouring into your students.

It's time to pour back into yourself.

My mission is to help teachers build simple, sustainable habits that support steady energy—so you can feel focused in the classroom and still have energy left for the people and activities you love.

More Energy. Less Exhaustion. Better Days in the Classroom.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding—and demanding—jobs there is. If you're tired of hitting an afternoon energy crash or feeling completely drained by the time you get home, you're not alone. Share your details, and I'll reach out to learn about your challenges and discuss how personalized coaching can help you feel energized throughout the school day.

Why the Dragonfly Icon?

The dragonfly has always been one of my favorite creatures, so choosing it as the symbol for DeSilva Executive Wellness felt natural. Beyond its beauty, it represents two values at the heart of my coaching.

With its ability to see in nearly every direction, the dragonfly reminds us that true wellness isn't shaped by food alone—it's shaped by sleep, stress, movement, relationships, and daily habits. The dragonfly is also a symbol of transformation: it spends most of its life developing beneath the surface before emerging into something entirely new. Lasting health works the same way—through small, consistent choices that gradually transform how we feel and live.

My hope is that DeSilva Executive Wellness helps you discover that transformation is possible—one simple habit at a time.
