What Does a Health Coach Do?
If you've ever found yourself thinking, "I'm exhausted all the time, but my doctor says everything looks normal," you're not alone.
Many women spend years pushing through fatigue, brain fog, poor sleep, and chronic stress, believing they simply need to try harder, sleep more, or drink another cup of coffee. But lasting wellness rarely comes from one quick fix.
That's where health coaching can help.
What Is a Health Coach?
A health coach is a supportive partner who helps you identify the lifestyle habits, stressors, and daily patterns that may be affecting your health and wellbeing.
Rather than prescribing diets or telling you exactly what to do, a health coach works alongside you to help you discover practical, sustainable changes that fit your unique life, values, and goals.
As a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I believe that every person is different. There is no single diet, morning routine, or wellness plan that works for everyone. Your health is influenced by many interconnected factors, including:
Sleep quality
Nutrition
Stress levels
Physical activity
Relationships
Work-life balance
Purpose and fulfillment
Environment
Mindset
Together, we explore how these areas work together to either support your energy—or quietly drain it.
Health Is About More Than Food
Food is incredibly important, but it's only one piece of the puzzle.
Imagine eating a nutritious diet but working in a job that leaves you emotionally depleted every day. Or getting enough sleep but carrying constant stress and anxiety. Or exercising regularly while feeling isolated and disconnected from the people around you.
These factors can all influence how you feel.
One of the core principles of Integrative Nutrition is that true wellness comes from nourishing both your body and your life. That's why health coaching looks beyond calories and meal plans to understand the whole person.
What Does a Health Coach Actually Do?
Every coaching relationship is unique, but the process typically follows a similar path.
We identify your goals.
During our first sessions, we'll talk about what's bringing you to coaching and what you hope to achieve.
For many of my clients, that means wanting to:
Feel energized throughout the day
Improve sleep
Reduce stress and overwhelm
Stop relying on caffeine to get through the afternoon
Create healthier routines
Feel more in control of their health
Improve focus and mental clarity
Build habits that actually stick
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we look for the underlying lifestyle factors that may be contributing to them.
We uncover what's draining your energy.
Many women assume fatigue has a single cause.
In reality, it often results from the accumulation of multiple small stressors over time.
Together, we'll explore areas such as:
Nutrition and blood sugar balance
Sleep habits
Stress and nervous system regulation
Movement and exercise
Relationships and boundaries
Work demands
Self-care practices
Daily routines
This whole-person approach often reveals opportunities for change that may have been overlooked.
We create a personalized action plan.
There are no rigid meal plans or unrealistic wellness challenges.
Instead, we'll create small, achievable steps that fit your lifestyle.
Research consistently shows that lasting change happens through consistent, manageable habits—not perfection.
Whether we're working on improving your evening routine, increasing hydration, managing stress more effectively, or creating healthier eating habits, every recommendation is tailored to your goals.
I provide accountability and support.
Knowing what to do is rarely the hardest part.
Following through consistently is.
That's why coaching includes ongoing encouragement, accountability, and problem-solving. Together, we'll celebrate your successes, work through obstacles, and adjust your plan as your needs evolve.
My goal isn't to help you be perfect. It's to help you make meaningful progress that lasts.
What Happens During a Coaching Session?
My coaching sessions are held virtually via Zoom and last approximately 50 minutes.
Each session provides dedicated time to focus entirely on you and your wellbeing.
We'll discuss:
What's gone well since our last session
Challenges you've encountered
New insights you've discovered
Progress toward your goals
Practical strategies for the weeks ahead
You'll leave each session with clear, realistic action steps that you feel confident implementing.
Between sessions, you'll also have email and text support for questions, encouragement, and accountability.
What Makes Health Coaching Different?
Health coaches don't diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, or replace your physician.
Instead, we complement medical care by helping you implement the lifestyle changes that healthcare providers often recommend but may not have the time to support.
Many people know they should:
Eat healthier
Exercise more
Reduce stress
Sleep better
Drink more water
The challenge isn't knowing these things.
The challenge is turning them into sustainable habits while balancing careers, families, responsibilities, and everyday life.
That's where coaching makes a difference.
Is Health Coaching Right for You?
Health coaching may be a good fit if you:
Feel exhausted more often than energized
Struggle with chronic stress or burnout
Want to improve your overall wellbeing
Feel overwhelmed by conflicting health advice
Have trouble staying consistent with healthy habits
Want personalized guidance instead of another one-size-fits-all plan
You don't need to have everything figured out before starting.
You simply need to be willing to take the first step.
Ready to Feel Like Yourself Again?
If you're tired of feeling tired, you don't have to figure it out alone.
As your health coach, I'll help you uncover the lifestyle habits and patterns that may be draining your energy, develop practical strategies that fit your life, and support you as you build lasting habits for better health.
Small changes, made consistently, can create remarkable results.
I'd be honored to help you begin that journey.
